one of one sculptural work centered on material interruption and cultural memory.

the familiar form is arrested mid-translation. light, weight, and surface are allowed to resolve without instruction, leaving the object suspended between recognition and refusal.

why this piece exists

this work fixes a volatile cultural object in place long enough for its residue to surface. it does not reenact use, and it does not offer function. it holds a shape that once moved quickly through bodies and rooms, and asks it to stay.

the reference is acknowledged without instruction or nostalgia. what remains is pop art, not product.

material and form

the bottle is cast in two opposing states. the lower portion forms in sun-glow acrylic resin, warm and light-reactive, disrupted by dark inclusions that coil and suspend internally. light is present, but already compromised.

the upper portion resolves into concrete, cold and matte, as if the material hardened mid-thought. the transition is exposed and uninterrupted.

the top retains the vertical ribbing and faint impression of the rush mark. it is not branding or commentary. it appears as a tactile memory, fossilized into the surface.

structure and balance

the form is held above a concrete base by a steel rod. the base is substantial and visibly worked, bearing incidental markings from the casting process. it functions as counterweight, not pedestal.

proportion is intentional. grounded mass below. brief steel rise. a compact form held in suspension.

object status

this work exists as a single object. no editions. no reproductions.

surface variation, internal resin flaws, color depth, and concrete texture shifts are preserved as part of the work’s intent.
